At the heart of an exceptional season for her, Fraser-Pryce achieved the 6th best performance of all time on the straight line two hundredths of a second from her record set in 2021 (10.60).

It is the 6th time of the season in less than 10 sec 70 for the queen of the Jamaican sprint, aged 35, an unprecedented regularity over a season.

Only three athletes have ever run faster than 10 sec 62 over 100 m: Fraser-Pryce, her compatriot Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah (10.54 in 2021) and the American world record holder Florence Griffith-Joyner (10.49 in 1988).

The five-time world champion in the distance won a particularly fast race on Wednesday ahead of her compatriot vice-world champion Shericka Jackson (10 sec 71, personal best) and the Ivorian Marie-Josée Ta Lou, who established in 10 sec 72 a new African record.
