Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) is in Frankfurt on Tuesday: First, the Chancellor will visit Industriepark Höchst, where he will visit the company Ineratec, which is currently building a plant to produce eco-kerosene for aviation from carbon dioxide.

He will also inspect the four fuel pumps that will be used to refuel 27 RMV S-Bahn trains with hydrogen in the future.

The transport association advertises the project as "the world's largest fuel cell train fleet with hydrogen". The trains are to run on non-electrified routes from December.

The Chancellor will then meet with DFB President Bernd Neuendorf, Vice President Célia Sasic and national team director Oliver Bierhoff at the new campus of the German Football Association.

One reason for the exchange is a tweet from Scholz during the European Women's Football Championship, in which he campaigned for equal pay.

“It's 2022. Women and men should be paid equally.

This also applies to sport, especially national teams," wrote Scholz.

Bierhoff then invited the Chancellor to an interview in which he wanted to inform him about the background to unequal pay in football.

The conversation now takes place during the Chancellor's first visit to Frankfurt.
