• Shortly before 18:00 on Thursday, July 7, an alarm comes that a person has been found seriously injured on Morö Backe in Skellefteå.

The girl is taken to Skellefteå hospital and later flown to Norrland University Hospital.

Evidence is secured at the scene and a preliminary investigation begins with the classification of attempted murder.

• The principal at Morö Backe school confirms that the girl is a student at the school and a letter to guardians is sent out.

School staff and residents in the area were shocked after the incident.

• A boy under the age of 15 is interrogated and on July 9 the police say he made certain concessions.

A few days later, the prosecutor adds another criminal classification, aggravated rape of a child.

According to school documents that SVT has seen, the boy has previously appeared in several cases of abusive treatment of students.

• On July 18, the police announce that the boy is no longer in Västerbotten County.

The police are releasing the information to create security: "We want to reassure local residents and parents in the local area".

A week later, the prosecutor's office announces that the girl has woken up from unconsciousness and is no longer being cared for in the intensive care unit.

• On August 9, the public prosecutor's office announces that the age assessment of the suspected boy is complete.

He is judged to be 15 years of age or older and thus of legal age.

The prosecutor also announces that the girl is still being cared for in hospital and she will probably not be heard in the investigation, as it is not considered to be in the best interest of the girl.

It is also suspected that the injuries she received impaired her ability to remember what happened.
