The brothers are suspected of murder and attempted murder and were arrested on 3 August.

According to the prosecutor, they must have deliberately run over their mother and another man, both in their 40s, when they were walking along a road in Hisingen.

They were both taken to hospital but the mother's life could not be saved.

Two other people are suspected of aggravated protection of a criminal.

Comprehensive investigation

This is what prosecutor Hediye Kurt, who leads the preliminary investigation, writes in a press release.

- It is an extensive investigation and we will not be finished on August 17.

Prosecutors have previously confirmed that there are suspicions of honor motives, and that there is a family relationship between those involved.
