The Israeli occupation forces revealed the details of the assassination of 3 leaders of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in Nablus, while dozens of Palestinians suffocated during clashes that erupted between Palestinian youths and the occupation forces in separate areas of the West Bank.

The events began when large Israeli forces reinforced with special units stormed, at dawn on Tuesday, the eastern lane in the old city of Nablus, followed by the siege of a house based on information from Israeli intelligence that arrived at night, indicating that the Palestinian leader Ibrahim al-Nabulsi and his companions were holed up inside the house.

Then the Israeli special forces demanded that Nabulsi surrender, but he refused, and an audio recording of him was published in which he advised his comrades not to leave their weapons and continue the resistance.

This was followed by the outbreak of clashes for several hours between the three resistance fighters and the occupation forces, which used a shoulder-launched missile to target Ibrahim al-Nabulsi's house.

During the confrontations, the Israeli occupation forces prevented ambulance crews from reaching the areas near the house, and fired at an ambulance.

The operation ended with the Israeli occupation forces announcing the assassination of 3 Palestinians: Ibrahim Al-Nabulsi, Islam Sabbouh and Hussein Jamal Taha, all of whom were leaders of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades affiliated with the Fatah movement.

Nabulsi was a member of the recently formed "Nablus Brigade", an alliance of Palestinian militants in the city that also includes militants from Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

The martyr Al-Nabulsi is considered one of the most wanted persons by the Israeli occupation army, and he has survived several assassinations launched by the occupation forces.

The Israeli Army Radio, citing the Shin Bet, said that Nabulsi was responsible for shooting attacks against the occupation army, and that explosives were found in his house.

The funeral of the martyrs

On Tuesday, hundreds of Palestinians buried the bodies of the three martyrs in a procession that departed from Rafidia Governmental Hospital in the city of Nablus.

The families of the three young men gave their last farewells, before the mourners held the funeral prayer at the Martyrs' Roundabout, in the center of the city, to be buried later in the city cemetery.

The participants in the funeral raised the Palestinian flag and the banners of the factions, and chanted slogans condemning the Israeli attacks, and demanding a response to the "crime of their assassination."

For its part, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli operation, describing it as a "heinous crime."

The ministry said in a statement, that this crime is a new episode in the open war of occupation against our people, their national cause and their just and legitimate rights, and an extension of the occupation's attempts to break the will of steadfastness and confrontation among our people.
