The ambassador said that Bangladesh is trying to negotiate with Moscow on oil supplies from Russia

According to the ambassador, Russia is helping the authorities of Bangladesh to build a nuclear power plant in the country.

In addition, he noted that Gazprom signed a contract with Bangladesh for the exploration of gas fields in the country.

“We are trying to negotiate the import of Russian oil.

Although I know that it falls under US sanctions.

But we are open to negotiations with Russia,” he told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, Matthias Pier, a columnist for the Handelsblatt newspaper, expressed confidence that European countries are looking for alternatives to Russian gas and take away energy resources from developing countries.

He noted that due to the actions of the European Union, the residents of Bangladesh and Pakistan faced problems with electricity supply.
