“Today we are announcing steps to impose visa restrictions on 100 Belarusian government officials and their associates,” Blinken was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

In particular, according to him, employees of the presidential administration, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Security Committee, the Central Election Commission, the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Transport of Belarus fell under the new visa restrictions.

The State Department said earlier that the United States is imposing visa sanctions against 893 Russian officials, including members of the Federation Council and the military.

In addition, sanctions were imposed against foreign government officials who supported the reunification of Crimea with Russia (31 people).
