Snorri Trastarson from Staffanstorp is back at the place where it all happened.

Field's shopping center opened its doors again on Monday, after being closed for a week.

Both store employees and customers were able to return to everyday life at the mall - where three people lost their lives on July 3.

Employees, customers and those concerned gathered at 12 noon for a minute's silence.

Outside the main entrance, the sea of flowers, candles and written greetings continued to grow.

Some stopped for a moment to think, other passersby wiped away tears.

Got to help one of the injured

Snorri Trastarson remembered the horror-filled afternoon when he himself ended up in the middle of everything.

Right next to the restaurant, where he worked as an operations manager on Sunday evening, a young man opened fire.

The staff at the restaurant helped customers hide during the commotion and Snorri had to help one of the gunshot victims.

Sorlet back at the mall

Now Snorri and his colleagues are back.

In a low murmur, people buy food and stroll between shops.

It took a while to land after the incident, he says, and is glad the store staff didn't have to see everything he saw.

- It feels okay, I think I myself understand that it was the perpetrator and not the area, but in a month when I stand here and look down over the escalators and think about what happened, then maybe I will feel differently, says Snorri Trastarson.

"Feels like an important step"

On Monday, Sandra Kjaerstad visited the mall with her little son, who loves to play in the mall's playgrounds.

She feels safe, but thinks a lot about what happened.

- It feels like an important step to say that it has happened, but that we can still be here together, says Sandra Kjaerstad.
