The State has set up for two years an aid for the purchase of an electric bicycle.

Recently, in its amending finance bill, the government adopted a new measure increasing this aid from 200 to 300 euros.

It will come into effect on August 15.

It went almost unnoticed.

During the debates in Parliament, an increase in state aid for the purchase of an electric bicycle was voted in the last amending finance bill.

Aid that will increase from 200 to 300 euros from August 15.

A main change

This is therefore good news for all cycling enthusiasts.

For those who hesitated to go electric or for those who simply did not have the necessary budget, you can now benefit from assistance to buy an electric bike.

Until now, only certain communities distributed it and it was necessary to receive similar aid from a local community to benefit from state aid.

This is the case of the Metropolis of Bordeaux or that of Lyon.

Moreover, these subsidies, which have existed for a year, are maintained and can therefore be combined.

Promote soft mobility

A measure that goes in the right direction for Thibaud Quéré, head of advocacy at the French Federation of Bicycle Users.

"The main advance is to remove the condition of the presence of local aid, which makes it possible to deploy this aid everywhere on the territory and to ensure fairer access to aid for the French", explains he.

The electric bike, a gentle mobility that flies away

"The idea is to minimize the remaining charge for the acquisition of an electric bike which can have a fairly high cost", he continues.

The amount of this aid will always depend on your income and the price of the model you wish to acquire.

The objective is to help rural populations, those who live outside cities, to switch more easily to electric bicycles.
