During the summer, the number of covid patients at the county's hospital increased and recently the proportion of patients increased by over 20 percent in just one week. The situation has been unexpected because the spread of infection has decreased in previous summers. Now it seems that the increase has slowed somewhat, but why does chief physician Johan Bratt dare not guess.
As before in the spring and summer, half of the patients with covid-19 treated at the county hospital are there for other diagnoses, but were found to have covid when they were admitted.
The other half is there because of covid.
The vast majority of the latter group are those who have not been vaccinated at all or have not taken all the doses, according to Johan Bratt.
