Among other things, the manager has invested in birch, but also giant oak.

Area manager Christer Samuelsson explains:

- We think they are beautiful.

They are rare.

I have heard that an old oak can contain 1,000 species.

Putting up fences

Around the oaks that have been planted, they clear and put up fences to make sure that the trees will do well.

- If we see any old oak, we cut it down to give it the opportunity to develop.

In addition to planting deciduous trees, Sveaskog has, among other things, tidied up the hiking trails on the mountain.

This year they are investing in improving for those who come to Omberg with a motorhome.

You can hear and see more about the deciduous forest and why Christer Samuelsson prefers it to the coniferous forest in the video above.
