This is reported by the Globo portal with reference to the country's Ministry of Health.

“Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga confirmed that Brazil should purchase 50,000 doses of monkeypox vaccines,” RIA Novosti reported.

It is noted that the purchased vaccines will be provided for medical personnel who are in direct contact with the infected. 

On July 29, the Brazilian Ministry of Health recorded the country's first case of death of a patient with monkeypox.
