Shunichi Suzuki, the Liberal Democratic Party's Aso faction, will remain as Finance Minister in the cabinet reshuffle on the 10th.

Suzuki is 69 years old and has been elected 10 times in the second district of the Iwate House of Representatives.



He belongs to the Aso faction of the Liberal Democratic Party.



He is the eldest son of former Prime Minister Yoshiyuki Suzuki and the younger brother-in-law of Deputy Governor Aso.



After working as his father's secretary, he was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in 1990, and has served as minister of the environment, minister in charge of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and chairman of the party's general affairs committee.



In the Kishida Cabinet, which was inaugurated last October, he was appointed Minister of Finance.



As Prime Minister Kishida, Mr. Suzuki, a veteran who has held three party posts and ministers, and who is close to Mr. Aso, will continue to hold important posts to stabilize the political foundation.
