“This is already a certain trend”: how dissatisfaction with the President of Ukraine and his actions is growing in the West

In Western countries, there are more and more critical articles and comments about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his actions, experts say.

In their opinion, Western states are growing tired of the Ukrainian leader and his inefficiency in his post.

Western media, including the German newspaper Die Welt, the American website The Grayzone, The New York Times, the Sky News Australia TV channel and the American National Review magazine, accuse Zelensky of unwillingness to cooperate, corruption in Ukraine, the exhaustion of the Ukrainian army, its mobilization at the expense of those convicted of pedophilia and torture, as well as “all those horrors” that occur under Zelensky with ethnic Russians in some parts of Ukraine.

“Discontent with Zelensky is growing in the West.

This is already a trend.

We see how the stages of acceptance of inevitability pass.

At the very beginning, the West behaved aggressively and actively pumped Ukraine with weapons and money, but now the agility has diminished, as well as faith in the "victory of Kyiv on the battlefield."

In the West, they finally began to understand that there are no prospects for this at all, despite the narratives that Zelensky broadcasts.

The reality is completely different, ”said Nikita Danyuk, deputy director of the RUDN Institute for Strategic Studies and Forecasts, in an interview with RT.

Vladimir Bruter, an expert at the International Institute for Humanitarian and Political Studies, expressed a similar opinion.

“In the West, they are increasingly experiencing a feeling of anger and disgust towards Zelensky, they consider him largely useless.

The incumbent president of Ukraine is no longer trusted either in the United States or in other leading Western countries, ”the analyst said in a commentary to RT.

Earlier, readers of the British Daily Mail criticized Zelensky, saying that he could not be trusted "even when he was just a comedian."

“And now, when he made billions in the war, even more so.

Now he has begun to sell state property to the Poles, and it won’t be long before the “Ukraine project” ceases to exist, ”wrote a user under the name Zrado Gonta.

For its part, a reader with the username Whellers22 opined that if world leaders "don't want a catastrophe" they should "make Zelensky stop."

Meanwhile, the newspaper Die Welt published an article about Zelensky's "secret deals" related to real estate in the UK and accounts in Cyprus and the Virgin Islands.

In turn, Sky News Australia anchor Corey Bernardi said that Western media do not report "all the horrors" that occur under Zelensky with ethnic Russians in some parts of Ukraine.

At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that the country has the largest Russian community outside of Russia.

Bernardi also expressed uncertainty that the image of Zelensky as a hero, formed by Western media, is true.

In addition, more and more information appears in the American media that the Biden administration is unhappy with the Ukrainian leader.

For example, Thomas Friedman, author of the Opinion column for The New York Times, said that behind the scenes among US officials, "there is much more concern about Ukraine's leadership than they talk about it."

“The White House and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have a deep distrust of each other — much deeper than reported,” he writes.

However, as Friedman notes, he gets the impression that, having invested a lot of money in Ukraine, the United States does not want to “look under the hood of Kyiv for fear of seeing corruption and intrigue.”

According to Nikita Danyuk, the Ukrainian leader did not meet the expectations of the West.

“It is precisely with this that the change in rhetoric around his figure is connected.

And we see how the West’s fatigue from Zelensky, from the Ukrainian agenda only grows over time and multiplies by political, food and economic crises in Western countries.

The fact that the colossal resources that are being spent on Ukraine does not give any result irritates the West very much,” Danyuk said.

For example, National Review correspondent Jim Geraghty wrote an article entitled “Why is the White House now secretly complaining about Zelensky?”.

In it, he outlines two, in his opinion, possible scenarios for the development of events related to the positions of the current Ukrainian leader.

Moreover, Zelensky is predicted the imminent end of his political career and even death at the hands of his own citizens, who are also disappointed in him.

This prediction was made by former American intelligence officer Scott Ritter on the Judging Freedom YouTube channel.

According to him, it is the President of Ukraine who is responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of civilians.

Western leaders are ceasing to believe in Zelensky's image and are increasingly refusing to help Kyiv, Ritter added.

In his opinion, a coup d'état may soon take place in Ukraine.

Internal contradictions

The incumbent president of Ukraine is tired not only of his Western curators, but also of the regional elite within the country.

According to the American newspaper The Washington Post, the mayors of Ukrainian cities accuse Volodymyr Zelensky of unwillingness to share funds for the restoration of the country.

As Kyiv began to receive billions of dollars from the West, tensions escalated between the central government and local leaders as the Zelenskiy government tries to maintain control over the money flowing in to rebuild the country and weaken any future political rivals.

The mayors of Ukrainian cities were not satisfied with this situation, and they even tried to establish their own partnerships with states and cities that are ready to finance recovery programs, writes WP.

One of the most ardent critics of Zelensky, the publication calls the mayor of Chernigov Vladislav Atroshenko, who accused the Ukrainian leader that instead of resisting the “attack of the enemy”, the city is forced to endure the oppression of the subordinates of the President of Ukraine.

“The central and local authorities must work together against the enemy, and not against each other,” InoTV quotes him as saying.

A few days before this statement, Atroshenko was not released from Ukraine to Switzerland for a conference on the restoration of Ukrainian territories, motivating this by a ban on the departure of men of military age.

Rivne Mayor Oleksandr Tretyak expressed solidarity with his colleague and noted that he also cannot sit in his city and wait for the central government to provide him with some help.

According to WP, such disagreements arose after Zelensky carried out a reshuffle in his own office, removing the head of the Security Service of Ukraine and the prosecutor general, as well as announcing a large-scale investigation into the case of "high treason and collaborationism."

The Western media did not ignore the issue of heavy losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

So, on the American website The Grayzone, an article was published that Zelensky, due to the depletion of the human resources of the Ukrainian army, was mobilizing those convicted of pedophilia and torture, including the leaders of the disbanded Tornado national battalion.

"Used as a scapegoat"

According to Nikita Danyuk, in connection with the growing internal problems in Ukraine, including "internecine wars" and rapid reductions in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the West began to realize more clearly that Zelensky is that political figure "on which you should no longer bet."

I do not rule out that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine may take the place of Zelensky or someone else who also communicates directly with the Americans.

In any case, Zelensky will not remain in power.

At the same time, it cannot be ruled out that he may fall victim to a coup d'état.

The figure of Zelensky has already been written off for the West, ”the expert stated.

Vladimir Bruter also spoke with a similar opinion.

“Due to the fact that Zelensky is already included in all schemes of interaction with Western partners, they are still keeping him in his chair.

As soon as they have a more profitable option, they will immediately prefer it to Zelensky,” the analyst concluded.
