The US mission to the UN answered the question about granting Lavrov a visa to the General Assembly

“Visa matters are confidential in accordance with US law,” a representative of the permanent mission told RIA Novosti.

He stressed that the United States, being the host country, is obliged to make every effort to facilitate the arrival of all representatives of the UN member countries to the area where the UN headquarters is located.

“We take our obligations under the UN Headquarters Agreement seriously,” the agency’s interlocutor concluded.

Earlier it became known that Lavrov will head the Russian delegation to the UN General Assembly in September.

This was ordered by Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
