It was staff who discovered the whole thing on the camera surveillance.

The man is said to have walked around the store with a knife and cut off pieces of punch that he put in his pockets.

He then also put the knife and two hose clamps in the girls.

After this, the man went to the register and paid for a few other items before leaving the store.

Once outside the gates, he was stopped by the staff and a police patrol was called to the scene.

"Needed a stump"

In questioning, the man explained that he did not want to pay for the hoses because they were sold by the meter and he "only needed a stump" of five millimeters.

He pleads guilty and states that he had the opportunity to present everything and pay for it, but that the reason he didn't was just nonsense.

Several thousand Swedish kroner in fines

The public prosecutor's office has confirmed to the Siren news agency that the sentence for petty theft has been approved.

The fine for the police inspector was daily fines totaling SEK 9,600.

The stolen goods, which had a value of SEK 218, have been returned to the store.

However, the man must repay SEK 187 to the store for the goods that they cannot resell.
