“The employees of the State Bureau of Investigation reported suspicion of high treason to the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mikhail Yezhel, who, having agreed on the signing of the Kharkiv agreements, contributed to the Russian Federation in the occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea,” the agency said in a Telegram message.

In October 2021, a court in Kyiv arrested former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov in absentia on suspicion of high treason while concluding the Kharkiv agreements.

Azarov himself called accusations from Kyiv a political revenge.

In July, Kyiv put on the international wanted list the former ministers of foreign affairs and justice of the country in the case of treason due to the signing of the Kharkov agreements, which concerned the deployment of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea.
