During Sunday, several international media reported that the Chinese military exercise around Taiwan had ended.

But on Monday, the Chinese People's Liberation Army (FBA) announced, via a post on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, that starting Monday it will practice leading anti-submarine attacks and naval raids.

The exercises are China's largest ever around Taiwan and a large number of warplanes and warships have taken part.

China has also fired robots over Taiwan.

Seen in reaction to Nancy Pelosi's visit

A week ago, US Speaker Nancy Pelosi made a state visit to Taiwan, and China's extensive exercises have been described as a reaction to the high-profile visit.

According to China's Ministry of Defense, the aim of the exercises has been to test weapon systems at sea and on land.

The country's Foreign Minister Wang Yi said in a statement on Sunday that Taiwan is part of China's territory - and not part of the United States.
