The President's Office announced today (7th) that it plans to announce a 'future space economy roadmap' (tentative name) within the year, including the development of next-generation launch vehicles, lunar landers, and lunar rover technologies.



At a briefing at the Yongsan Presidential Office this afternoon, Science and Technology Secretary Seong-kyung Seong said, "To emerge as a space powerhouse, we want to establish a stronger and more compact space development strategy and immediately start implementing it."



Regarding the next-generation projectile, Secretary Cho explained, "We started a preliminary feasibility study in May with the goal of development in 2031, and the National Assembly is in progress with the goal of reflecting next year's budget."



Regarding the lunar lander, he said, "We are currently planning a project with the goal of starting development in 2024."



“It is emerging as a symbol and substance of national power and national pride that encompasses economic and security values,” said Cho, saying that the global competition for lunar exploration has resumed after more than 50 years.



"The Yoon Seok-yeol government plans to establish the Aerospace Administration so that our future generations can realize their dreams to their heart's content, and to lead specific strategies with the goal of securing space technology and leading the space economy," he added.



Regarding the establishment of the Aerospace Administration, which was also a pledge of President Yoon's presidential election, an official from the presidential office said, "We will design the design after hearing opinions from various experts and government ministries, and announce it after securing sufficient public consensus."



Regarding the possibility of developing a manned lunar probe, "
