This Sunday, Gustavo Petro was sworn in before hundreds of thousands of people who attended his swearing-in ceremony in Bogota, becoming Colombia's first left-wing president.

"I swear to God and I promise the people to faithfully respect the Constitution and the laws of Colombia," said the 62-year-old former senator and ex-guerrilla.
