On the first day of the National Convention to select the new Democratic Party leadership, Rep. Lee Jae-myung won a landslide.

As a result of voting by members of the Rights Party in Gangwon and Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, they started to take a big lead with nearly 75% of the votes.

Let's call a reporter on the spot.

Reporter Yoo Su-hwan, today's (6th) result shows the Democratic Party's sentiment in this area first, right?

<Reporter>

Yes, I am in Daegu EXCO now.

The voting results of the electoral college made up of members of the Democratic Rights Party of Gangwon and Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions were released a while ago.

Of the 27,56 votes cast in these three districts, Rep. Jae-myung Lee received 74.81% of the vote, Rep. Yong-jin Park received 20.31%, and Rep. Hoon-sik Kang received 4.88%.

The Democratic Party leadership is elected by adding up 40% of the right party members, 30% of the delegates, 25% of the public opinion poll, and 5% of the general party member poll.

It is evaluated that Rep. Jae-myung Lee succeeded in subduing the baseline by winning the first regional rights party member primary by smashing victory.

Now that the event is over, you are calm, but how was the atmosphere on site today?

<Reporter>

In the preliminary election on the 28th of last month, when the representative candidates were reduced to three, the percentage of votes for each candidate was not disclosed.

As today was the first time that the votes of party members were confirmed numerically, the atmosphere at the scene was hot.

Hear from the three candidates.

[Lee Jae-myung / Democratic Party Assemblyman: Thank you for sending more support than I expected.

We will do our best.

Thank you.]

[Park Yong-jin/Democratic Party Member: Opinion polls I think this will be a stepping stone for chasing after I am chasing…

.]

[Hun-sik Kang/Rep. of the Democratic Party: A new flow of change will be made with the Chungcheong area as the turning point, and then continue to Honam and Seoul…

.]

As a result of the vote by the Supreme Council, Rep. Chung Cheong-rae took the first place with 29.86% of the votes, followed by Ko Min-jung, Park Chan-dae, Jang Kyung-tae, and Seo Young-gyo.

All four candidates classified as 'Lee Jae-myung' were included in the top 5, and only one member of the 'non-Lee Jae-myung' tendency was included in the 5th place.

Tomorrow, the voting results of the Incheon and Jeju regional rights party members will be announced in Incheon.

It is noteworthy whether Rep. Lee Jae-myung will continue his early victory, and whether lawmakers Park Yong-jin and Kang Hoon-sik will succeed in counterattacking.
