China News Service, August 7 (Reuters) - On the 5th local time, a crude oil storage tank at an oil reserve base in Cuba's Matanzas province was struck by lightning, causing a fire.

Another oil tank exploded on the 6th.

One person has been killed, 121 injured, and 17 firefighters are missing.

  According to reports, after the crude oil storage tank was struck by lightning on the 5th and caught fire, the second oil storage tank also exploded on the 6th.

  Cuban authorities said one person was killed and at least 121 others were injured, 36 of whom are still receiving treatment in hospitals and five in serious condition.

The whereabouts of 17 firefighters are unknown.

More than 1,000 residents were evacuated from the area.
