Five deposits of explosives hidden in an abandoned plot of land in the municipality of

Accous,

near the French Basque Country, were found last month by the French authorities, who attribute it to the terrorist group ETA, the local newspaper

Sud-Ouest reported this Saturday.

The explosives were found by a farmer in a stone wall that served as a border to an isolated parcel of that municipality, for which he alerted the authorities.

A group of artificers traveled to the place to take charge of the discovery, of about 30 kilos each drum.

According to the mayor of the town, who was present at the time of the intervention, they included the words "ammonium nitrate" in Basque.

The investigation into the finding is in the hands of the

Paris Antiterrorist Prosecutor's Office.
