The incident is said to have occurred in October last year where a person has submitted a complaint about discrimination in connection with their disability to the Discrimination Ombudsman, DO.

"The staff there know me from before and know that I am adult deaf.

They ran over me completely and talk over my head, with the excuse that it's too hard for them," writes the person himself in his complaint.

The discrimination officer's decision

After reviewing the case, the DO has determined that the region has violated the prohibition of discrimination contained in the law.

It states, among other things, that no one should be disadvantaged or treated worse than anyone else because of a disability.

"They choose to discriminate and put me down, by calling (partner) as if I didn't understand enough myself.

I can very well speak for myself,” the complaint to the DO continues.

The region responds

In a statement, the region writes that they do not believe that the person has been discriminated against and regrets what has happened.

The staff knew that the person was deaf and there was information that the contact wanted to show SMS or e-mail.

This information was missed on the phone call.
