The nanny of a six-month-old girl, who died of shaken baby syndrome, was indicted and imprisoned, we learned on Saturday from the Saint-Etienne prosecutor's office.
"The approved childminder domiciled in L'Horme (Loire) was presented last weekend to an examining magistrate, who indicted her for willful violence resulting in death without intention of giving it, and remanded in custody,” said the deputy public prosecutor of Saint-Etienne, André Merle, confirming information from the regional daily

On July 26, around 5 p.m., the suspect had alerted the father of the six-month-old girl, in a period of adaptation at home, of the deterioration of the baby's state of health.
Hospitalized, the latter died two days later in hospital.
The child's autopsy showed that he had succumbed to shaken baby syndrome.
In addition, a video made by the girl's mother for the father, when dropping her off at the nanny's on the morning of July 26, showed the child in good health, according to the magistrate.
