On the 6th, the 77th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, a memorial service was held in a town in southern South Korea where many Korean survivors live.

Hapcheon, in the south of South Korea, is also called the “Hiroshima of Korea” because many people who were exposed to the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the Japanese colonial period live there. We are holding a memorial service together.

On the 6th, a traditional ceremony was held in front of the temple where the memorials of the A-bomb survivors are enshrined. to mourn the victims of the atomic bombing.



Lee Gyu-yeol, 76, president of the Korean Atomic Bomb Victims Association, who was exposed to the atomic bombing in the womb of Hiroshima, said, "When I think of the victims, tears come to my eyes. I said something so that Russia would not hesitate to invade Ukraine and use nuclear weapons. I hope that there will be no more countries with nuclear weapons," he said.



There are about 1,800 people living in South Korea who have received A-bomb survivors' health handbooks. A new memorial facility is being considered.
