Two days in a row, Israeli warplanes have attacked terror-labeled Islamic Jihad in Gaza.

A spokesperson for the Israeli military says that the country's military is ready for a week-long operation, TT writes.

In response to the attacks, according to the Israeli military, Islamic Jihad has fired nearly 450 rockets at Israel, AP reports.

350 of the rockets reportedly reached Israel, but almost all were intercepted by the country's missile defense system.

Two people are reported to have received minor shrapnel injuries.

On Saturday, the air raid alert sounded as far north as Tel Aviv and civilians have been forced to flee into shelters.

Major clubs Atletico Madrid and Juventus were due to meet in a friendly in the city on Sunday but the match has been called off due to the fighting, which has been described as the worst escalation of violence since last year's 11-day war.

In Gaza, at least 24 people, including several children, have been killed according to Palestinian authorities.

No casualties have been reported in Israel.
