"As a result of Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, 24 people, including six children and two women, were killed and 203 were injured," the ministry said.
Earlier, Israel announced the conduct of Operation Dawn against the Islamic Jihad group in the Gaza Strip.
A state of emergency has been declared along the 80-kilometer border between Israel and the enclave.
Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that Israel will increase the intensity of the operation in the Gaza Strip.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow calls on all parties to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict to show restraint and return to the ceasefire.
