At 8:15 am on August 6, 1945, the American B-29 strategic bomber 'Enola Gay' dropped the atomic bomb 'Little Boy' on Hiroshima, a peaceful coastal city with a population of 350,000.



A single bomb destroyed the city in an instant, killing 140,000 people.



At 8:15 a.m., the time the bomb was dropped, a memorial ceremony was held in Hiroshima that served as a memorial service for the victims of the atomic bombing.



The ceremony was attended by 3,200 people including the bomb victims and their families, along with Prime Minister Kishida and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.



Guterres, who visited Hiroshima after 12 years, once again warned that the world is facing a serious nuclear crisis.
