New sanctions were imposed on 62 Canadian citizens - they are prohibited from entering the Russian Federation.
“Taking into account the particularly hostile nature of the actions of the ruling regime of Prime Minister J. Trudeau, carried out with the aim of insulting not only the multinational and multi-religious people of Russia, but also Orthodox believers around the world, including Canada, when compiling the list of “closed people”, their malicious activity was taken into account in the fight against the Russian world and our traditional values, ”the ministry said in a statement.
The Russian Foreign Ministry clarified that further retaliatory measures by the Russian side will be announced in the near future.
Earlier it was reported that Canada has expanded sanctions against Russia.
The sanctions list includes 43 individuals and 17 legal entities.
In July, Canadian authorities imposed sanctions on the oil and gas, chemical and industrial sectors of the Russian economy.
