In his appeal, the political scientist noted that often the role of parents who need state support is performed by working pensioners who are dependent on children.

Some of them had a child shortly before retirement, someone became the guardian of a minor as a result of force majeure, for example, the death of the child's parents, Orlov noted.

In order to create conditions for the child, working pensioners (parents or those who have assumed the role of legal representatives) are forced to continue or resume their labor activity in order to obtain additional financial resources necessary for raising a child.

At the same time, currently working pensioners, like other employees, are required to pay personal income tax (PIT) on wages.

“In order to support this category of citizens, I ask you to evaluate the feasibility of introducing changes to tax legislation regarding the exemption of citizens who have reached retirement age, but continue to work, from paying personal income tax on wages if they have dependent children aged up to 14 years old,” the text of the appeal reads.

Earlier, the State Duma proposed to pay maternity money to working mothers in advance.
