Now, he is accused by the prosecution that he should be held criminally responsible for accepting bribes and will be tried in Zhangzhou, Fujian.

China's Supreme People's Procuratorate announced on the 4th that Gong Jianhua, a former member of the party group and deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress, was suspected of taking bribes.

Recently, the Zhangzhou City People's Procuratorate has filed a public prosecution with the Zhangzhou City Intermediate People's Court.

The prosecution alleges that the defendant Gong Jianhua used to serve as the deputy secretary and deputy mayor of the Nanchang Municipal Party Committee of Jiangxi Province, the deputy secretary and mayor of the Yichun Municipal Party Committee, the secretary of the Fuzhou Municipal Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee, the secretary of the Nanchang Municipal Party Committee, and the deputy secretary of the Jiangxi Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee. The convenience of the director and other positions, as well as the convenient conditions for the formation of power and status, seek benefits for others, illegally accept other people's property, and the amount is particularly large, and should be investigated for criminal responsibility for the crime of accepting bribes according to law.

According to public information, Gong Jianhua was born in June 1962, from Nanchang County, Jiangxi Province. He started working in July 1983 and joined the Communist Party of China in October 1984.

He has been working in Jiangxi and traveled to Nanchang, Yichun, Fuzhou and other places.

On November 29, 2021, it was officially notified that Gong Jianhua was suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, voluntarily surrendered, and accepted the disciplinary review and supervision investigation of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Supervision Commission.

On May 10 this year, the official notified him that he had seriously violated discipline and law and was expelled from the party and public office.

In this report on party discipline and government affairs, Gong Jianhua was accused of organizing "small circles" and "small gangs", engaging in "seven things", polluting the political ecology, failing to implement the Party Central Committee's decision-making and deployment on trade union work, and operating model workers in private. In the selection process, the honor of the party and the country will be conferred privately.

He was also accused of "seeking benefits for others in the selection and appointment of cadres and employee recruitment", "inquiring into central inspections and disciplinary review matters", "violating regulations and interfering in judicial activities", and "promoting power rent-seeking and family-style corruption".

It is worth mentioning that Song Chenguang, who was the secretary of the Municipal Party Committee with whom Gong Jianhua had “partnered with” during his tenure in Yichun, was previously given a suspended death sentence for the crime of accepting bribes.

Xiao Yi, who succeeded Gong Jianhua as secretary of the Fuzhou Municipal Party Committee, has also been "double-opened" and transferred for review and prosecution before, and was charged with bribery and abuse of power.
