The president suggested moving the pedestal to a museum, where, in his opinion, the tank "would once again become part of the past and would not allow quarrels in the present."

“The same should happen with other monuments and graves in Estonian cities that are being moved from parks to museums or cemeteries,” he said.

Earlier, the Estonian Prime Minister called for the removal of all Soviet monuments in the country as soon as possible.

In May, a monument to Soviet soldiers "suddenly disappeared" from the Mihkli cemetery in Estonia.
