Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) has apparently been infected with the corona virus.
The Federal Ministry of Health in Berlin announced on Friday night that Lauterbach had tested positive on Thursday evening.
He has “only mild symptoms”.
According to the ministry, he is performing his official duties “temporarily from domestic isolation”.

According to the information, Lauterbach has been vaccinated four times against Corona.
This shows that infection with the currently dominant omicron variant cannot be completely ruled out “even with extreme caution”.
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) last gave the nationwide seven-day incidence with 451 infections per 100,000 inhabitants within one week.
According to the latest weekly report from the RKI on Thursday evening, the numbers have recently fallen by a good fifth within a week.
At the same time, the experts did not give the all-clear.
The general infection pressure remains high, judges the RKI.
"The associated burden on the healthcare system also remains high, even if the operational situation has improved slightly in the past week," says the report.
