Regarding the ideal state of the Science Council of Japan, the government is considering making the member selection process transparent while continuing to exist as a national institution, and is proceeding with adjustments such as consultation with the Liberal Democratic Party, which is proposing independence from the country. I'm doing it.

Regarding the Science Council of Japan, the year before the Kan administration, the member candidates recommended by the council were not appointed. I recommend that you create a strong organization.

Under these circumstances, the government believes that cooperation with the Science Council will be necessary in the future, and is considering making the member selection process more transparent while continuing to exist as a national institution.

Specifically, we will revise the selection criteria so that experts in a wider range of fields can become members, request the Science Council to formulate medium- to long-term activity plans, and report the results of activities to third-party organizations. We are considering introducing an evaluation system.

In addition, there is a proposal within the government to re-examine the system six years after the system is revised, and if the reform is not progressing sufficiently, the organization will be fundamentally reviewed. I am going to proceed.
