As Cheban explained in his Telegram, the draft tariff proposed by the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) of Moldova does not cover either the purchase price or the costs of transportation, supply and distribution of natural gas and leads to the accumulation of tariff deviations, which at the end of this year may exceed 3.9 billion lei.

“JSC Moldovagaz will comply with the recent decision of the national regulator on regulated prices for natural gas, however, the figures included in it call into question the fulfillment of financial contractual obligations to PJSC Gazprom.

In this situation, the company applied to an external supplier with a request to defer payment in August, and a letter was sent to the National Commission for Emergency Situations to defer payment of VAT on natural gas for the period April-August inclusive,” the statement says.

Earlier, Vadim Cheban said that the cost of Russian gas for Moldova will increase in August to $1,458.5 per 1,000 cubic meters.
