For a period of time, a very small number of "Taiwan independence" diehards on the island have tried their best to provoke the mainland, maliciously create cross-strait confrontation, and collude with external forces to split the country, which not only seriously endangers the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait, but also seriously damages the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation.

In order to demonstrate the firm determination and firm will to oppose the split of "Taiwan independence", in November 2020, the spokesperson of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council released a message to the outside world that a list of "Taiwan independence" diehards was being drawn up, announcing that those involved in "Taiwan independence" who were included in the list would be punished. Members of the separatist forces with arrogant remarks and vile acts of seeking "independence", including major supporters who organize, plan, and implement separatist activities on and off the island, as well as their financial sponsors, will be severely punished in accordance with the law.

On November 5, 2021, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council stated that the mainland will punish the very few "Taiwan independence" diehards on the list, including Su Zhenchang, You Xikun, and Wu Zhaoxie, in accordance with the law.

On August 3, 2022, the spokesperson of the Central Taiwan Affairs Office was authorized to make a statement saying that the state has a clear legal basis for pursuing the criminal responsibility of the "Taiwan independence" die-hards; for any die-hard "Taiwan independence" die-hards, we will take criminal punishment measures and punish them severely in accordance with the law. No loan, lifelong accountability according to law.

It is imperative to strengthen sanctions against "Taiwan independence"

The publication of the list of "Taiwan independence" diehards is an important measure to severely punish the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces in accordance with the law. It is a solemn warning to the "Taiwan independence" diehards and their main supporters, including their sponsors. It is of great significance for maintaining the current peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, and also Got the support and support of compatriots on both sides of the strait.

However, in the face of the above-mentioned sanctions, individual "Taiwan independence" diehards did not repent and continued to collude with external forces to carry out "independence" provocations, which not only seriously undermined the peace and stability of the Taiwan Strait, but also eroded the foundation of peaceful reunification across the Taiwan Strait.

To this end, the mainland will increase sanctions on the "Taiwan independence" diehards on the list.

Specifically, its necessity has the following four aspects:

First, it will help demonstrate the determination, confidence and ability of the mainland to oppose "Taiwan independence".

Individual "Taiwan independence" die-hards did not fully realize the determination and will of the mainland to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Instead of repenting, they intensified their provocative actions and embarked on a road of no return to split the country and betray national interests.

Strengthening sanctions is an inevitable move to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity and safeguard the interests and well-being of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

The second is to help maintain peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

The "Taiwan independence" separatist forces and their activities are the biggest threat to peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and the biggest obstacle to the peaceful development of cross-strait relations.

Strengthening sanctions by the mainland is not only an important countermeasure against the increasingly severe "Taiwan independence" provocation, but also a powerful measure to maintain peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and promote the peaceful development of cross-strait relations.

Only by resolutely cracking down on "Taiwan independence" separatist activities can the peaceful development of cross-strait relations be effectively guaranteed, and the interests and well-being of compatriots on both sides of the strait can be effectively safeguarded and enhanced.

The third is to help guide the people on the island to choose the correct political stance.

Although the strengthened sanctions are not aimed at ordinary people on the island, this move is conducive to forming a correct political orientation in Taiwanese society, helping Taiwanese people to distinguish between right and wrong, see the general situation clearly, and draw a line and keep a distance from the "Taiwan independence" separatist forces. Join the ranks that support the peaceful development of cross-strait relations and the peaceful reunification of the motherland.

Fourth, it will help counteract the interference of external forces.

Recently, some countries and individuals have ignored the historical and legal facts that Taiwan is a part of China, ignored international law and the basic norms of international relations, and made successive erroneous words and deeds on the Taiwan issue, grossly interfering in China's internal affairs, and trying to obstruct China from resolving the Taiwan issue.

Strengthening the sanctions measures is an important measure to firmly oppose the "Taiwan independence" separatist act and the interference of external forces.

"Taiwan independence" separatist forces and external interfering forces are linked to each other, and the mainland's attack on the former is to contain the latter.

This move can send a strong signal to external intervening forces: If they continue to meddle in China's internal affairs, they will be resolutely countered.

Two aspects of strengthening sanctions against "Taiwan independence"

The mainland has drawn up a list of "Taiwan independence" die-hards, and pursued the legal responsibility of the relevant persons in accordance with the law, which is fully justified by legal principles.

The mainland will strengthen sanctions and severely punish the "Taiwan independence" die-hards who are stubborn and intensified.

Specifically, there are the following two aspects.

The first is to further publicize the list of "Taiwan independence" diehards, that is, to publish more people who have been included in the list.

The list implements precise strikes and targets a small group of "Taiwan independence" die-hards, not ordinary followers, nor the vast majority of Taiwanese people.

To reflect this, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council named only three persons in charge of the Taiwan authorities.

However, the spokesperson of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council emphasized that the list of "Taiwan independence" die-hards is not limited to Su Zhenchang, You Xikun, and Wu Zhaoxie.

In the future, the mainland will further disclose the list based on the need to punish the "Taiwan independence" diehards.

The second is to further increase accountability, that is, from the implementation of general punishment to criminal accountability, which is valid for life.

Last year, the mainland imposed punishments on the three "Taiwan independence" die-hards, mainly restricting the freedom of entry and exit and economic exchanges, that is, "prohibiting their own and their family members from entering the mainland and the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions, and restricting their affiliates and related organizations in the mainland." , individuals to cooperate, and never allow their affiliated companies and sponsors to make profits in the mainland, and take other necessary disciplinary measures.”

If the "Taiwan independence" forces continue to provoke, the mainland will initiate criminal judicial procedures, and the criminal responsibility of the "Taiwan independence" diehards on the list will be held in accordance with the Criminal Law and the Criminal Procedure Law, which will be valid for life.

The list drawn up by the mainland has sufficient legal basis, and the implementation of the list also has sufficient judicial guarantees.

The mainland can use bilateral or multilateral international criminal judicial assistance mechanisms to bring "Taiwan independence" diehards to justice and bring them to justice.

Even if some people cannot be arrested temporarily, they can be tried in absentia, convicted and sentenced according to law.

The "Taiwan Independence" forces must recognize the general trend and pull back from the precipice as soon as possible

Reunification is the conclusion of history, the general trend, the righteousness, and the aspiration of the people.

In the face of the historical wheel of the reunification of the motherland, any tricks to seek "independence" are futile. The higher the "Taiwan independence" elements jump, the worse they will fall!

The misdeeds of Zhuangzhuang's "independence" continue to accumulate, and will eventually be liquidated.

We urge the "Taiwan independence" diehards on the list to recognize this as soon as possible, completely abandon their wrong words and deeds, and work together with the majority of Taiwan compatriots to promote the peaceful development of cross-strait relations and the peaceful reunification of the motherland.

The state judicial organs will, according to the actual actions and meritorious performance of their position and attitude change, give lenient, reduced or exempted punishment according to law.

As for those "Taiwan independence" elements who have not yet been included in the list, don't take any chances. You should pull back from the precipice as soon as possible, so as not to be trapped in a cocoon and go to jail.
