The released statement said that "the Council has decided to impose restrictive measures against two additional individuals" in response to Russia's special military operation in Ukraine.
In June, the European Court of Justice of General Jurisdiction overturned the decision of the Council of the European Union to extend the freezing of the assets of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and his son.
In March, the European Union extended sanctions against Yanukovych and his entourage for a year.
