The fire was set overnight.

The traffic of TGV and TER trains, interrupted Tuesday afternoon in the Landes due to a fire which destroyed 32 hectares of pines, resumed Wednesday morning with the approval of the firefighters, indicated the SNCF and the prefecture.

Seven trains traveling on the Bordeaux-Hendaye and Bordeaux-Dax-Tarbes lines could not leave due to a fire near the tracks in the town of Laluque, about twenty kilometers north of Dax.

red vigilance

According to SNCF, traffic has "gradually resumed" with expected delays at departure from the station.

However, it should return to normal “before the end of the morning”.

At the height of the intervention, this fire mobilized two Canadair, a Dash plane, nearly 170 firefighters and a dozen gendarmes, added the prefecture.

The Landes department went into red vigilance on Wednesday (level 4 out of 5) for the risk of forest fires, as did the two other departments hosting the Landes de Gascogne forest, neighboring Lot-et-Garonne and Gironde, classified red since Monday.
