• Politics Pedro Sánchez resets the PSOE: María Jesús Montero as 'number two' and Pilar Alegría and Patxi López as spokespersons

  • Changes The Feijóo effect and the dysfunctions force Sánchez to a profound remodeling of the PSOE

The

Board of Directors of the State Society of Industrial Participants

(Sepi) has proposed the former communication director of the PSOE

Maritcha Ruiz

as the new president

of the Zarzuela Racecourse.

The appointment will be addressed and studied at the weekly meeting of the body, convened this Thursday.

Maritcha Ruiz Mateos was from 2015 until last week the head of communication and relations with the press of the PSOE.

She is a person of great confidence for the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, with whom she has worked closely in recent years.

Both have known each other for decades, when they were active in the

Socialist Youth of Madrid

.

The changes in the leadership of

Ferraz

in recent days, with the resignation of Adriana Lastra as

number two of

the match, led to a cascade of changes in the technical structure of the formation -which led to the arrival of

Ion Antolín

, until now General Director of Information Coordination of the Government, as the party's new head of communication-, at the same time that La Moncloa has shielded its Cabinet for the final stretch of the legislature.

In fact, Ruiz will replace

Francisco Salazar at the head of the Hippodrome,

who will occupy the General Secretariat of Political Planning of the Presidency of the Government.

Previously, Salazar was part of Iván Redondo's team during his time as Pedro Sánchez's chief of staff, just until a year ago.

This is not the first relocation of members of Sánchez's entourage.

In 2018, the appointment of his right-hand man for years,

Juan Manuel Serrano,

as president of Correos, came to the fore and generated controversy during the first bars of Sánchez's term.

From 2014 to 2018, Serrano was the head of the Commission of the Federal Executive of the Socialists and personally accompanied the now president during his car tour of Spain in order to regain control of the party.

According to the Transparency Portal, the annual gross remuneration received in 2019 by the president of Hipódromo de la Zarzuela was close to 90,000 euros: 81,820.43 euros as fixed remuneration and 7,874.72 in variables.

If the Board of Directors of the Sepi approves the appointment of Ruiz as the new president, it must be subsequently ratified by the board of directors of the Zarzuela Racecourse.
