Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the issue of returning to mandatory vaccination against coronavirus is not yet being considered.

"Not.

This issue is not yet on the agenda,” Peskov said in an interview with reporters, answering a question about the prospects for tightening anti-coronavirus measures against the backdrop of an increase in the incidence.

The presidential press secretary said that Vladimir Putin systematically receives information about the dynamics of the spread of the coronavirus.

He also noted that the government is monitoring the situation with COVID-19 in the country on a daily basis.

“The president, of course, receives daily reports from the government, from relevant departments, from the Ministry of Health, from Popova’s department (head of Rospotrebnadzor. -

).

Therefore, the president does not and cannot have a lack of information here, ”Peskov said.

He also clarified that if the dynamics of the incidence of COVID-19 worsens, the President may return to holding operational meetings with the Cabinet of Ministers and Rospotrebnadzor.

Speaking directly about the president, Peskov said that the head of state “everything is fine with his health”: “He is working in an active mode.

Precautions in the epidemiological plan have been organized, they continue.”

At the same time, Peskov stressed that, surrounded by the head of state, anti-COVID measures have not been completely canceled.

“The justification for this is confirmed by the fact that now, as we see, there is again an increase in the number of infected people.

These measures will continue,” he said.

Morbidity and recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor

On the morning of August 3, the operational headquarters published new data on the incidence of coronavirus in Russia, according to which 14,638 cases of COVID-19 infection were detected in 24 hours.

A day earlier, this figure was 9560.

During the day, 2038 patients with COVID-19 needed hospitalization, on the previous day 1962 people were admitted to hospitals.

During the day, 43 people with coronavirus infection died.

The day before, 48 patients died.

The number of recovered per day was 10,266, the day before - 8573.

Against the background of the situation with the incidence of COVID-19, Rospotrebnadzor published a list of precautionary measures.

“If you feel unwell, avoid contact with others, even if you have a negative PCR test result for COVID-19.

If you are sick, stay at home,” the message says.

Rospotrebnadzor also urged Russians not to self-medicate, but to seek medical help in case of an increase in symptoms of the disease.

Other recommendations relate to the systematic ventilation of the room, frequent hand washing with soap and the use of a mask in public places.

In addition, Rospotrebnadzor reminded of the importance of vaccination against COVID-19.

“Protect yourself against severe illness by getting vaccinated.

Remember that it is recommended to get vaccinated against COVID-19 every six months.

Regular revaccination helps maintain the necessary level of immunity, ”the message says.

Note that the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova in mid-July allowed an increase in the number of cases of COVID-19 in the future, noting that we are talking about variants of the disease that are not characterized by a severe course.

“With the advent of new sub-variants of the Omicron strain, we will see an increase in the number of new cases, which is now observed in the capital, but new sub-variants do not lead to a more severe course of the disease, to an increase in the number of occupied beds.

At the same time, readiness for new challenges must be high,” Popova said on July 14 during a meeting with the leadership of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

In addition, on July 19, Rospotrebnadzor announced the identification of a new centaur strain in Russia.

According to the department at the end of July, only seven cases of infection with this variant of COVID-19 were detected in the Russian Federation.

At the same time, Rospotrebnadzor previously noted that in all those infected with this subspecies, the disease proceeds in a mild form.

COVID-19 in the world

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Europe is the leader in the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 - more than 241 million over the entire observation period.

From the WHO infographic it follows that in the summer in Europe there was also an increase in the incidence of coronavirus.

In particular, in the second half of May, there were about 912 thousand active cases of the disease in the region, by the beginning of July a new peak was reached - 3.3 million current cases of COVID-19.

Later, the growth rate slowed down.

At the end of July, there were just over 2 million cases of COVID-19 in Europe.

The total number of cases of coronavirus in the Americas, according to WHO, is 170 million. In July, this part of the world also recorded an increase in the incidence, with a peak of 1.8 million cases in mid-July.

At the end of the month, their number dropped to 1.7 million.

Note that in the spring of 2022, China faced a new outbreak of COVID-19.

Since March, there has been an increase in the incidence, within which, according to WHO, the number of weekly active cases of coronavirus has increased from 22.5 thousand in early April to 576 thousand in the second half of May.

Against the backdrop of this situation, new restrictions were introduced in the country.

In particular, at the end of March, a hard lockdown was announced in Shanghai.

The work of public transport was limited, people not involved in the life of the city were transferred to remote work.

The decision to gradually lift the imposed restrictions became known in mid-May, when shopping centers, supermarkets and other commercial enterprises were allowed to reopen in Shanghai.
