The two alleged perpetrators of the theft of the 45 bottles from the

Atrio

de

Cáceres hotel-restaurant,

arrested last July in Croatia, are scheduled to be transferred this Thursday to the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 4 of Cáceres to give a statement before the judge who investigates the case and thus go to court, as reported by the

Superior Court of Justice of Extremadura

(TSJEx).

The Spanish Police investigating the case still do not have official proof that the extradition procedures for the departure of both from the Croatian country have been completed and, therefore, they are not aware of the flight they are going to take, according to police sources. to THE WORLD.

However, the judicial body has confirmed the presence of both in the Cáceres courts and even the time of their statement, around 12:00 in the Palace of Justice.

Their court appearance will be behind closed doors, although they could also take advantage of their right not to testify.

It must be remembered that both were arrested at the border crossing from

Montenegro

to

Croatia

-Karasovici Sutorina- last Monday, July 18, when they were preparing to enjoy a pleasure trip and vacation in the Croatian country.

Those arrested were

Constantine Gabriel Dumitru,

48 years old and with dual nationality (Romanian and Dutch) and former Mexican Miss Priscila Lara Guevara, 28 years old.

They had been investigated for 10 months, since the robbery in Atrio occurred on October 27, 2021, in a detailed investigative work led by the Spanish Police -both in

Madrid

as in Cáceres - which had the collaboration of agents from Europol and Interpol.

The man had a criminal record for two robberies of luxury bottles in restaurants in Madrid.

It was in January, when the agents were finally able to reveal the identity of those involved based on the images captured by the restaurant's security cameras, when the investigation was accelerated, although in the following months there were difficulties in its investigation. location, since the first thing they did was flee from Spain, leaving the flat where they lived in Madrid.

The bottles are still not found

José Polo, in the cellar of the Atrio.EM restaurant

After months of tracking through various European countries, the alarm was raised about their presence in Croatia, where they entered and left twice in a row.

It was in the second, and after requesting an arrest warrant from the Cáceres judge when the arrest took place, although they did not take their loot with them, so the whereabouts of the bottles are unknown.

Its owners, the renowned

Toño Pérez

and

José Polo,

owners of the winery, especially mourn the loss of a Chateau d'Yquem

from 1806, valued at 310,000 euros, a bottle with a special history as it was obtained at auction and later broke in the cellar itself, for which it later had to undergo a meticulous restoration, which included glass pearls, in

Bordeaux

, which has made it mythical.

It was the woman, Priscila Lara Guevera, who registered at the hotel and reserved a table in the restaurant -from where you can access the winery- with a false Swiss passport.

She was wearing a wig, a mask and spoke perfect English so as not to leave any clues as to where she came from.

The man did not register.

In addition, they used a prepaid card and not a credit card to pay for the room and dinner so as not to leave bank traces.

In addition, they had had lunch at the restaurant to carefully plan the robbery up to three times in the previous months.

In one of them is when they were able to make a copy of the card that opens the door of the cellar (it is one of the great unknowns of the case, how they were made with the original), a reserved space but to which anyone is invited you want it if you use the restaurant.

After dinner, they both went up to the room and, moments later, the man left the room to go to the restaurant area, where the wine cellar is located.

In turn, the woman went down to the reception to distract the employee with the excuse that he prepare something to eat even though the kitchen was already closed.

After accessing with a copy of the key, the man went directly for the selected bottles that he had previously located, the most select of the collection, and brought them up to the room.

That happened around 1:30 p.m.

Then, after 05:00, they both left the hotel with three large backpacks, one in each hand and the other on their backs, in which they carried 45 bottles of wine, whose value amounted to 1,648,500 euros, and they got lost in the streets of the old town. of Cáceres without leaving a trace.

They had left the car (or a collaborator was waiting for them) outside any video surveillance zone in the city.

The theft was discovered the next day, around noon, when employees were preparing the restaurant's lunches.

The authors of the robbery had already put land in between until their arrest in Croatia.
