The 40-year-old man is suspected of raping an elderly woman in May last year at his former workplace at the home service in Vimmerby municipality.
He is also charged with around 20 cases of offensive photography of women in their homes, also those linked to the 40-year-old's workplace.
- It is probably more than the 20 cases we have found, said prosecutor Johan Henningsson to Vimmerby tidning in connection with the man's arrest in June this year.
No longer working
The man's conduct is assessed in the indictment as gross because he is said to have taken advantage of his employment and shown particular recklessness and rudeness towards the defenseless position of the women.
According to the indictment, the crimes must have taken place between 2018 and 2021
- Since that suspension, the person has not been employed by us, said Anette Nilsson, who is head of social affairs in Vimmerby, to SVT Nyheter Småland on June 17 this year.
What the prosecutor is requesting for punishment is currently unknown.
The district court proceedings began on Tuesday and will end on Friday of the same week.
