There was a state of discontent on the American platforms after unconfirmed news that former US President Donald Trump buried his first wife on his golf course to reduce the value of taxes.

Trump's first wife, Ivana, died last month and was buried at the Trump Golf Club in the US state of New Jersey, in a move that activists saw as a tax fraud.

"As a tax researcher, I was skeptical of rumors that Trump buried his ex-wife on a New Jersey golf course just for tax breaks," sociology professor Brooke Harrington wrote on Twitter.

"I've reviewed state laws, and indeed lands designated as cemeteries are not subject to property, income or sales tax, there is no stipulation on the amount of human remains needed for a tax amnesty, and one body is sufficient for the order."

As a tax researcher, I was skeptical of rumors Trump buried his ex-wife in that sad little plot of dirt on his Bedminster, NJ golf course just for tax breaks.

So I checked the NJ tax code & folks…it's a trifecta of tax avoidance.

Property, income & sales tax, all eliminated.

Local media reported that the Trump Organization had previously tried to list the stadium as a non-profit cemetery to take advantage of state laws for tax breaks.

For his part, an official from the Trump Organization told local media that the link between Trump's choice of where his wife is buried and the tax exemption is slanderous.

Tweeters criticized what Trump did and accused him of abusing his wife's body, with journalist Laurie Garrett writing, "Did Ivana ever agree to use her body as a tax evasion?"

Trump is so repellent, even over the grave of his children's mother.

Bloggers said what Trump did deserved accountability, and the authorities should have stopped him, and journalist Nancy Lee Grant took to Twitter to criticize the boys' approval.

This is not the first time that Trump has tried to reduce the value of taxes imposed on him, as he registered the club he owned before as a farm, which reduced the value of his taxes.

Local newspapers also said he used various methods to circumvent and reduce taxes on his father's estate.
