"As part of the ongoing fight against the monkeypox outbreak, Governor Gavin Newsom today declared a state of emergency to support the state's vaccination efforts," the statement said.
It is noted that the state has already received more than 61,000 doses of monkeypox vaccine.
Earlier, The Washington Post reported that the administration of US President Joe Biden is studying the possibility of introducing a state of emergency in the country due to the situation with monkeypox.
