Earlier, a member of the historical and toponymic commission of the city council, Alexander Babich, announced the dismantling of monuments to the heroes of the Soviet Union and the heroes of Socialist Labor on Theater Square in Odessa.

In April, a monument to Soviet Marshal Georgy Zhukov was dismantled in Kharkov.
