The UN is considering the possibility of investigating the attack on the pre-trial detention center in Yelenovka

It is noted that UN Secretary-General António Guterres received requests from Russia and Ukraine to conduct such an investigation.

“We are studying whether there are conditions that will make it possible to conduct a UN investigation,” Dujarric is quoted as saying by TASS.

Earlier, Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Representative of Russia to the UN, said that the country was waiting for the UN to immediately assess the shelling of the pre-trial detention center in Yelenovka.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at the detention center in Yelenovka with captured Ukrainian soldiers and militants located there using the American HIMARS multiple launch rocket system.

The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case after the strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to RIA Novosti, fragments of the HIMARS MLRS ammunition were found at the site of the shelling of the pre-trial detention center in Yelenovka.
