South Korea recorded 44,689 new cases of coronavirus during the past 24 hours, including 436 imported cases, bringing the total number of cases to 19,820,739, according to the Korean Agency for Disease Control and Prevention.

And the agency announced the registration of 21 new deaths from the Corona virus, bringing the death toll to 25,68 deaths, according to Yonhap News Agency.

The rise in new infections led to an increase in the number of seriously ill patients.

The country reported 287 critical cases on Monday, up from 284 the day before.

This is the highest number since May 18, when the number reached 313.
