Prime Minister Kishida, who was visiting the United States to attend the review conference of the NPT = Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, finished a series of schedules such as speeches and returned to Japan on the morning of the 2nd of Japan time.

Prime Minister Kishida became the first Japanese Prime Minister to attend the NPT Review Conference at the United Nations Headquarters in New York in the early hours of the 2nd, Japan time, and delivered a speech in English.



Among these are:


encouraging the nuclear-weapon states to make their nuclear forces transparent;


announced as Japan's action plan for the abolition of nuclear weapons, the "Hiroshima Action Plan."



He called on all countries to respond constructively to maintain and strengthen the NPT regime.



After the speech, Prime Minister Kishida told reporters that he presented an action plan as a realistic first step towards "a world without nuclear weapons" and said, "In order to lead to next year's G7 Hiroshima Summit, First of all, I would like to make a solid effort to produce concrete results at this NPT Review Conference."



Prime Minister Kishida also held talks with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and exchanged views on issues such as nuclear disarmament.



After completing a series of schedules, Prime Minister Kishida left the United States on a government plane just before 5:00 a.m. Japan time and was on his way home.
