China News Service, Beijing, August 1 (Reporter Zhang Su Guo Chaokai) Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian hosted a regular press conference on August 1.

A reporter asked: The Iran nuclear deal negotiation has stalled since March. Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister and Chief Negotiator on the Nuclear Issue Bagheri said recently that Iran has responded to the new draft proposed by the EU to prompt the United States and Iran to resume the implementation of the nuclear agreement, and will give further support to the negotiations. A chance for America to show its sincerity.

How does China view the prospects of the Iran nuclear negotiation?

Zhao Lijian: Currently, the negotiations on the resumption of the implementation of the JCPOA are at a critical juncture.

All parties should adhere to the general direction of dialogue and negotiation, increase diplomatic efforts, and strive to reach consensus on outstanding issues.

As the initiator of the Iranian nuclear crisis, the US should thoroughly correct the wrong policy of "maximum pressure", actively respond to Iran's legitimate and reasonable demands, and push for an early outcome of the negotiations.
